About Moravian Church
Discover our rich history, mission, and commitment to serving God and our community in Tanzania
Our History
The Moravian Church in Tanzania has a rich and vibrant history dating back to the 19th century when Moravian missionaries first arrived in East Africa. Our church is part of the worldwide Moravian Church (Unitas Fratrum), one of the oldest Protestant denominations, tracing its roots to the Czech Reformation of the 15th century.
In Tanzania, the Moravian Church has grown from humble beginnings to become a significant part of the Christian community, serving thousands of believers across the country. We are committed to spreading the Gospel, nurturing spiritual growth, and serving our communities with love and compassion.
Our Heritage
The Moravian Church emphasizes unity, simplicity, and a heart for missions. Our motto, "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love," guides our approach to faith and fellowship.
